Midnight Network has opened the Claim Phase of its NIGHT tokens. Dubbed “Glacier Drop,” this phase will distribute NIGHT tokens to eligible wallets. Wallets holding at least $100 in native tokens can connect to the official claim portal and redeem an allocation.

The total on-chain stablecoin transaction volume surged to a new all-time high of $1.5 trillion in July. Circle’s USDCdominated the stablecoin market, accounting for nearly 50% of the total volume. The GENIUS Act, signed into law on July 19,established clear guidelines for stablecoins.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Division of Corporation Finance issued new staff guidance stating that liquid staking does not automatically constitute a securities offering. However, the regulator highlighted that the statement is not a blanket approval, adding that liquid Staking might characterize securities offering under some circumstances.

The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has flagged ten prominent crypto exchanges for operating in the country without the necessary approval. The financial watchdog warned that it could take legal and regulatory action against the violators. The SEC highlighted concerns about the dangers of fraud, market manipulation, and identity theft.
The disruption lasted from 06:15 UTC until 06:44 UTC. The pause, which occurred at block height 33,792,704, temporarily impacted key network functions, including deposits, withdrawals, and general block production. This incident marks Base’s second outage, following asimilar event in September 2023.

Ethereumexchange-traded funds (ETFs) available in the US saw $152.3 million in outflows on Aug. 1. The outflow amount was the largest since Jan. 8. It ended the 20-day streak of positive netflows for Ethereum ETFs, which have accumulated nearly $5.4 billion during the period.
